Cambodia Gambling Dens

[ English ]

There is an interesting history to the Cambodia gambling dens that lie just over the dividing line from nearby Thailand, in which gambling den wagering is not legal. Eight gambling halls are anchored in a generally tiny area in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This collection of Cambodia gambling halls is in an excellent spot, a 3 to four hour trip from Bangkok and Macao, the two largest gaming centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a thriving business with Thai blue-collar workers and travelers from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The astonishing capital accrued from the gambling halls ranges from $7.5 million to over 12.5 million, and there are a few restrictions constraints for gambling den ownership. Ownership is presumed to be mostly Thai; still, financial sources are ambiguous. The borders are officially open from 9:00 a.m. to 1700, and although visas are apparently required to cross, there are methods and means around this, as is real of many border crossings.

The original Cambodia casinos opened in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were forced to close in the late nineties, leaving only 1 gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, an anchored bateau gambling hall, highlights 150 slot machine games and sixty tables. The Naga casino is open all day and night with forty two tables of mini-punto banco, 4 tables of vingt-et-un, 10 of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The 1st gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in 1999 and the Golden Crown before long followed. A total of one hundred and fifty one armed bandits and 5 tables at the Golden Crown and 104 slots and 68 table games at the Holiday Palace. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort contains 300 slot machines and seventy gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slot machine games and ninety six gaming tables, including eighty seven baccarat banque (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slot machine games and 66 of the normal gaming tables, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the 8 casinos in Poipet, again in a motel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slots and 97 casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in a comprehensive vacation and hotel building that features a number of comforts accompanying the gambling hall, which provides 10,000 sq.ft. of 130 one armed bandits and eighty eight gaming tables.
